Jamaica International Badminton Championship 2019

The flagship tournament of the Jamaica Badminton Association (JBA) will be held in the spacious National Indoor Sports Complex, Jamaica, over the period March 6-10, 2019. Players seek to accumulate points in their quest for a birth at the 2020 Olympics and World Rankings, with purse money to the tune of US$10,000.00.

Being a level 4 International Series tournament on the Badminton World Federation (BWF) calendar, action promises to be fierce and fast in the following events:

  • Men’s Singles
  • Women’s Singles
  • Men’s Doubles
  • Women’s Doubles
  • Mixed Doubles



The tournament is sanctioned by the BWF and the Pan Am Badminton Confederation. It will be played in full accordance with the Laws of Badminton and competition regulations adopted by the BWF. Players should be eligible to play for BWF Member Associations. Documentation supporting the nationality of players is required.


According to BPAC regulations for all tournaments, the player’s name and country on the back of the shirts, is mandatory. (BWF GCR, referring player’s clothing, designs, advertising and lettering)


The official hotels for the event are The Jamaica Pegasus and 138 Student Living

UWI Mona. The Jamaica Badminton Association will provide transportation from

the airport (Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston) to the official hotels,

and the venue, for registered players and team members staying at the official
